Too much junk food on the Beano website
Popular children's comic the Beano has come under scrutiny from the British Medical Journal (BMJ) who claim the comic's website promotes too much high in fat, sugar or salt (HFSS) food choices.
The BMJ warns: Today’s “innocent fun” is tomorrow’s health crisis. A bit like porn webcamming on the Internet then?
The BMJ has obviously ignored Beano character Bananaman, a superhero type, also known as 'the man of peel'.
Bananaman promotes the consumption of 5 a day and always keeps a spare banana in his shorts.
Even his jokes promote a high fibre diet:
Why did Bananaman go out with a prune?
Because he couldn't find a date.
Hilarious and shame on the BMJ.
